Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Our kids say these Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars taste like Reese's Cups. They have a delicious buttery inside covered with creamy chocolate. Another great thing about this recipe is that they are No Bake bars. The only cooking you have to do is to melt chocolate.

After you have pressed the crust mixture into the bottom of the pan it is important to put it into the refrigerator so that it will firm up before pouring the topping on. Otherwise the chocolate will be absorbed into the crust instead of floating on top.

If you can't find graham cracker crumbs in the store, then you can by whole graham crackers and crush them. Make sure they are pulverized into crumbs so that the texture turns out right. A food processor works well for this.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar

  • 1 cup peanut butter plus
    4 tablespoons
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation:

In a medium bowl, mix together the Butter or Margarine, Graham cracker crumbs, Confectioners' Sugar, and 1 cup Peanut Butter until blended

Press evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan and put into the refrigerator for 15 minutes while you are making the chocolate topping.

In a double boiler, or in the microwave, melt the chocolate chips with the 4 tablespoons of peanut butter, stirring occasionally until smooth.

Spread over the prepared crust. Refrigerate for at least one hour before cutting into squares.
